On 8 maart 1919, the Jan Pietrsz Coen took Marinus Johannes Viergever to Batavia, the capital city of the Dutch East Indies which corresponds to the present-day city of Jakarta. He died -a casualty of WWII- in Jimahi, Jawa Barat. He was buried at Ereveld (miliatry cemetery) Leuwigajah.at Cimahi.(just off Bandung). -

On 5 March 1957, Isaak Johannes Viergever, Petronelle Viergever (nee Eckhard) and their children Johannes, Fredericus, Ina, Bob, Willy, Ilja Johannes and Olga Louise arrived in Australia on the SS Waterman, a former Victory troop transport ship (then named SS La Grande Victory). In 1951 the ship was converted for transport of 831 migrants to Australia. Daughter Hillegonda Petronella came later by aircraft (arrival 27 November 1960). -
